Howler Brothers

Originally from Wendake, the young group Wendat Howler Brothers was formed around singer-songwriter Blaise Gros-Louis. A musician from a young age, Blaise started out as a pianist before becoming a drummer in a metal band. After taking a break marked by major life choices, he stopped consuming substances and returned to music, this time with the intention of turning his art into a powerful tool for healing. Channeling his energy into music and the Howler Brothers project has become a form of therapy for him. With an evolving style, the band draws inspiration from artists like Michael Kiwanuka to explore indie rock and even funk, both in English and French. Their songs tell meaningful stories deeply rooted in Indigenous realities, addressing themes such as colonization, land, and the assertion of rights.
