Description

Between the Gaspé Peninsula and Occitanie, there are 5,109 kilometers, an ocean, mountains, and many valleys. But above all, there is a shared language and a desire to connect. The Grand Partage Gaspésie–Occitanie brings together artists from near and far following a creative residency dedicated to new expressions of Francophone and Indigenous song. For several days, these singer-songwriters shared their worlds, influences, and accents to create, write, and imagine together.

This residency showcases the fruits of this artistic and human encounter, led by Sandra Contour (Alma/Montreal), Sam Mallais (Acadia), Kawish (Wemotaci), Clemix (Belgium), Vilvoorde, and Danger Zoo (France).

Initiated by the Petite-Vallée Song Festival and the Printival Boby Lapointe in Pézenas, this international collaboration acts as a true creative laboratory where the voices of the Francophonie intersect and respond to one another. It's a unique opportunity to discover artists in the throes of creative energy and celebrate the rich connections that unite Francophone music scenes.

This project is made possible thanks to the financial support of Musicaction and the Government of Canada, and the collaboration of Occitanie en scène, the Rencontres D'Astaffort, and Wallonie-Bruxelles Musique.
