Two Free Outdoor Concerts: Transcestral
On May 30, fifteen artists from Oktoecho will present two outdoor performances of Transcestral, an original creation blending Sufi and Indigenous (Inuit, First Nations, and Métis) music and dance.
Under the direction of Katia Makdissi-Warren, these concerts will feature Nina Segalowitz (Dene and Inuvialuit vocals), Moe Clark (Métis vocals), Anouar Barrada (Sufi vocals), Sandrine Masse (Wendat vocals), the group Boyzac (powwow vocals and drumming, led by Wapan Boivin), as well as Adam Barrada (whirling dervish) and Sam Ojeda (Yorem dancer).
