The first major free outdoor show in the history of Jamais Lu!
Under the full moon of May 1st, at Frédéric-Back Park, the 25th Jamais Lu Festival opens with a unique theatrical ritual.
Conceived as a contemporary ceremony, this performance brings together writers, musicians, and performers—all women and non-binary individuals—invited to write original texts and songs for the occasion. Confessions whispered to the moon, secrets entrusted to the night, words offered to this ancient celestial body so that it may watch over us all and those who will come after us.
Each participant names something she has never spoken aloud: an intimate truth, a desire, a shame, anger, a fear. A confession kept to herself for a long time and entrusted, for the first time, to the night. A truth that can be solemn, intense, but also funny, unsettling, tender, or radiant. Because the full moon amplifies. It raises the tides, illuminates what is hidden, and makes buried things visible.
You are invited to take part in this grand feminist circle, this gathering of witches where words become incantations, songs become offerings, and the night transforms into a space of sharing and power. A ritual where words circulate, settle, are passed on, and transmitted.
With this opening event, Éric Noël imagines and stages a first gesture in his own image: a participatory and unifying theatrical ritual, where words, music, and community meet under the moonlight.
