Biography
Verna Polson is an Anicinabe artist from Kebaowek in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Until recently, Verna was interested in traditional Anicinabe singing and drumming, and began learning the art. Produced by Musique Nomade and in collaboration with Minwashin, she unveils the Water Song, a tribute to nature, and the Travelling Song, dedicated to her ancestors and those leaving for the spiritual world. Through music, Verna felt called to pass on her ancestral knowledge and culture to her family, particularly her granddaughter, and connect with people through her drumming and singing.
