Biography
Leaving Carlisle is a rock alternative band from Fredericton. Founded by Blackfoot artist Merl Millier Fourhorns, the band mates include Merl’s son Wolf Millier, Wolastoqiyik artist Oluwi-Sapiye, and Keith Broom. For Merl, music is much more than chords and lyrics - it's therapy, a lifeline in life's torments. He credits his music and his family as the pillars of his journey today. In 2022, during a Musique Nomade stopover, the duo created Walking Bridge, a vibrant rock song, capturing their energy and story that appears on the compilation album On the Road - Sitansisk (St. Mary's), where their hard-hitting sound and honest lyrics resonate powerfully. With their incisive, authentic music, Leaving Carlisle offer a message of strength and tenacity through every riff and chorus.
