Élise Boucher-DeGonzague is a W8banaki and Quebec multidisciplinary artist from the Odanak community. Combining singing, theater, storytelling and dance, Élise enjoyed a prodigious fifteen-year career in France. On her return to Quebec, she became more committed than ever to her W8banaki culture, unveiling her debut album, N'TOKI (Je me réveille). Inspired by the W8banaki legend of the creation of the world, her lyrics and melodies honor the world of ancestral First Nations lullabies. In addition to performing her own compositions, she exploits her fabulous talent in a variety of styles, including the repertoire of the great chansonniers, songs of the world and of Quebec's First Nations, jazz, the sacred register and a few classical pieces.
