Biography
Paul O'Bomsawin, known as Jay Treaty, is an W8banaki artist from the Odanak community. His music blends his cultural heritage with dynamic hip-hop rhythms. Growing up in disadvantaged neighborhoods, Paul was immersed in hip-hop culture from a young age, which fueled his passion for music. Influenced by artists like John Trudell, Public Enemy, and Boogie Down Productions, hip-hop became his platform to express his experiences and viewpoints. His cultural identity is central to his music, serving as the essence of his work. Paul's mission is to raise awareness and improve living conditions, enlightening listeners about his culture and community challenges while promoting hope and positivity.
