Description

Come and celebrate the rich traditions and cultures of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis in the First Nations Garden at Montréal’s Jardin botanique. This is an opportunity to honour them by recognizing their contributions to Québec’s history and cultural diversity.
 

A family-friendly program

Several activities are planned as part of National Indigenous Peoples Day, which also marks the summer solstice:

Indigenous artisan market
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Performances
1 p.m. The Mayo Family (Kwena Bellemare Boivin, Owen Mayo, and their children) - traditional dances. Kwena is Attikamekw and Owen Mayo is Kanien'kehá:ka.

2:30 p.m. Pascal Ottawa, also known as Pako, a singer-songwriter from the Atikamekw community of Manawan

Bannock tasting and annedda herbal tea

2 p.m. - 5 p.m. (or until supplies last)

The event will take place rain or shine. (In case of rain, it will be relocated. Inquire upon arrival at the Jardin botanique.)
