Biography
Krista Paul, a Wolastoqey artist from the community of Sitansisk (St. Mary's), always wanted to drum with a women's group. Unable to find a group in her area, she decided to create one: Pokəholakənəl Witsehkehsolticik - Sisters of the Drum. Together with eight other women, they began meeting every Tuesday to share their passion for music and learning. Today, their group of nine talented women has two projects: one dedicated to live performance, the other open to all. They have been featured in magazines, taken part in major provincial events, sung in schools and at graduation ceremonies. For Krista Paul, these women are much more than a group of percussionists; they have become the "Pokuhulakon Witsehkehsu": sisters of the drum, united by their love of music and sharing.
