Under that cowboy hat hides the greatest Country music Fan. Innu singer-songwriter from Pessamit, André Simon has been taking his passion for over fifteen years to different stages, both Indigenous and urban. With the notable release of his first solo album in 2019, “Umue Nitinniun”, under Makusham Musique, André Simon received a nomination in the “Country style group or artist” category at the Teweikan Gala. This album is a tribute to his father for believing in his talent, and his dearest wish would be to sing his brother's compositions. His new song recorded with Musique Nomade in Pessamit in May 2024 allows him to channel his emotions through music, it speaks of his loved ones whom he lost, too quickly and too numerous, and of resilience in the face of grief. He speaks to his brother, Neshtesh, about hope and love and tells him to greet his parents in heaven. A song of courage to all those who overcome difficult trials.
