Biography
Oluwi-Sapiye, also known as Louis-Xavier, is a Wolastoqey and Quebec artist from the Wahsipekuk community. His music is more than a passion, it's his medicine. His art focuses on deep reconnection with the Wolastoqey language, a path to personal and community healing. Currently based in Fredericton (Eqpahak), Oluwi-Sapiye's presence in the community goes beyond the music scene; he is also involved in education and the preservation of Wolastoqey culture. In 2022, he produced the song Apc-oc ntapaci during a Musique Nomade stopover. Through his music, Oluwi-Sapiye shares his passion for the language and hopes to inspire others to learn it.
