Biography
Cheryl Tenasco is an Algonquin from the Kitigan Zibi First Nation and mother of two girls. She learned her first chords from her mother at the age of 14 years old. Her musical influences come mostly from her family as they where themselves gifted musicians, even though they « just played to be sociable ». Her song Feel free to be you is dedicated to the superman she calls dad. He overcame an alcohol addiction and accomplish 30 years of sobriety, 30 years as a Band member, and one term as Grand Chief of the Algonquin Tribal Council. He believed in unity, cultural development and sustainability. We must continue to contribute to the future generations to come. Chi-Kije megwetch kakina kego kayije kikinamawiyang.
