Biography
Judie Acquin-Miksovsky belongs to the community of Saint-Mary's, New Brunswick. At the age of 16, she was introduced to traditional songs and percussion. Years of practice have allowed her to appropriate the various Maliseet songs and to refer to them in all circumstances. She now develops her artistic projects under the name "Sqotewisq". Today, she teaches at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in the Aboriginal Visual Arts program. She therefore works to transmit to her fellow men the knowledge and techniques specific to her culture.
