Biography
Mattie Comeau is a Mi’kmaw singer-songwriter from Big Cove, New Brunswick. A storyteller and ardent defender of Indigenous rights and freedoms worldwide, she believes in the power of music to heal and unite all Peoples. Professionally, she has been collaborating, recording and performing since 2017, and has represented the Mi'kmaw Nation across Canada, in French Guiana and Senegal. In late 2022, she formed The Hello Crows with fellow Wabanaki singer-songwriters Dylan Ward, Quinn Bonnell and Judie Acquinn, with the intention of sharing the stories and inspirations behind their songs while educating audiences about their culture, history and the social obstacles they still face today.
