Biography
Anne-Sophie and Anne-Pier are young Innu artists from the Pessamit community on the North Shore. From a very young age, they sang and were both passionate about music. Their natural talent was quickly recognized by those around them, and the two sisters enrolled in singing lessons in Baie-Comeau, where they participated in several end-of-term shows.
Together, they took their first steps on stage at the Pessamit Innu Festival. Since then, they have also lent their voices to weddings and community events. At the MN stopover in Pessamit in April 2025, Anne-Sophie and Anne-Pier recorded their first song. Makusham, a traditional song, reveals their touching and promising voices, as well as their beautiful connection. Already well on their artistic journey, they are part of this new generation of Indigenous artists proud of their culture and ready to share it with the world.
