Sigwanis Lachapelle, aka Mskikwimensis (little strawberry), is a W8banaki artist from the Odanak community. Passionate about poetry, Mskikwimensis finds inspiration in her personal experiences and uses her art to raise awareness of the realities of Indigenous peoples and celebrate her W8banaki culture. She had the opportunity to share her poems during the show Le projet W, presented in her community, which aims to highlight W8banaki culture. Mskikwimensis' emotional and authentic lyrics speak of friendship, love and resilience. Her culture plays a crucial role in her career. She believes that her roots enable her to assert herself as an artist and express her identity authentically.
