Biography
Scott-Pien Picard, born in Sept-Îles, is an Innu songwriter from Uashat Mak Maliotenam community. He writes his songs mostly in his first language (Innu). It was around the age of six that he started to play music and began to perform in shows within his community. His passion for music began during his youth when he was inspired by the bands Maten and Kashtin. He participated in "Le Rythme 3" TV show in Montreal in 2015, directed by the singer-songwriter Samian, and took part in an event bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous musicians called "Nikamun Mamuitun" (Gathering Songs) at Petite Vallée in 2017. He is now active on the indigenous music scene and performs in several Indigenous communities in Quebec. He has produced his first album at Maliotenam's studio Makusham in collaboration with Florent Vollant, Kim Fontaine, Ivan Boivin Flamand, Réjean Bouchard, Louis-Philippe Boivin, and Mathieu Mckenzie.
