Biography
Susan Nabinacaboo is a Cree artist originally from Whapmagoostui, a community located on the James Bay coast, and now lives in Kawawachikamach. An artist by passion, a teacher by profession, Susan is also the mother of 5 children, grandmother of 18 grandchildren and great grandmother of 4 great grandchildren. Her husband is a deacon in the Anglican Church and every Sunday she sings the traditional hymns in the Cree language, from which the Naskapi language was inspired. This fall, she offers us two works: There's a Land that is Fairer than Day and When Peace like a River Attended My Way recorded with the Musique Nomade team during a stopover.
