Biography
Alice Mowatt is an Anicinabe artist and singer from the Pikogan community in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Alice regularly sings Anicinabe nursery rhymes with her sister Émily, taught by their grandmother. From an early age, they felt called to pass on their knowledge and values of their nation to the next generation of their community. Produced in the fall of 2022 during a Musique Nomade stopover and in collaboration with Minwashin, the Mowatt sisters unveil the song Kaneo, handed down by their grandmother, with the aim of bringing joy and love into people's hearts.
