Biography
Métis singer-songwriter Willows follows up her 2014 critically acclaimed self-titled album with her new single Two Wolves. Two Wolves features Willows’ intimate vocals layered over delicate acoustic guitars and a haunting glass marimba, taking listeners to the place in the human heart where light dances with shadows.
Guitarist Joseph Marchand (Safia Nolin, Pierre Lapointe), drummer Robbie Kuster (Patrick Watson) and keyboard player François Lafontaine (Marie-Pierre Arthur) accompany Willows on the track.
Geneviève Toupin presented her new project and alter-ego Willows in 2014, blending her Métis roots and her Franco-Manitoban heritage. Willows was met with glowing reviews and what followed was a very busy few years: over 100 shows throughout Canada and Europe, a Canadian Folk Music Award and GAMIQ nominations and a Trille Or for Best Album out of Western Canada. Accomplished musician and singer, she is also a founding member of the Montreal indie-pop band CHANCES, a featured singer in the show Danse Lhasa Danse and a background vocalist in Jorane’s new project.
