Biography
Frank Pietacho is an Innu singer-songwriter from the community of Ekuanitshit, on Quebec's North Shore. Proof that music is innate in him, he gave his first concert at the Festival Innu Nikamu at the age of 3. He went on to form his band Uasheshkun, which performed at numerous indigenous events, including the Mamuk Nutashakuan Festival, Innu Nikamu and the Fête des Innues de Pessamit. His new folk-rock song, Muestatentakuan, recorded with the Musique Nomade team in Ekuanitshit in November 2023, deals with themes of nostalgia and loneliness. Despite the melancholy that permeates his lyrics, the strength of his performance reveals a deep energy that fuels Frank's determination to pursue his musical journey. It is from this duality that the song draws its strength, transforming loneliness into a source of motivation and resilience.
