1- Rez: short for what is commonly referred to as “an Indian Reservation”, a control system put in place by the Federal Government to control and dictate everyday life for Indigenous Peoples of Canada. Synonyms: prisonz, cagez, Indigenous management perimeters;
2- Rez-Dog: a stray dog that roams around the Rez without ownership, without a home, without a known source of nourishment. Runs in packs and are extremely elusive and are very capable of avoiding animal control officers;
3- Rez-Doggz; a group of Mi’kmaq Hip-Hop artists from Gesgapegiag who describe the raw reality of Rez Life and deliver the truth through uncensored vocabulary. The Rez Doggz recite stories of good times as well as tough times. Sick and tired of being limited by the restrictions put in place by governments, organizations, haters and doubters… the Rez Doggz have formulated a plan to bring Indigenous reality to the forefront of topics to discuss in this Country and around the World. The plan; speak the truth and use the Hip-Hop platform to deliver the truth directly to your ears through radio speakers, cell phones, computers, car stereo systems and all social medias.
