Biography
Teueikan is a group made up of Jean-Paul Bellefleur, an Innu artist from the community of Unamen Shipu (La Romaine), and Bruno Bellefleur, an Innu musician from the community of Ekuanitshit, on Quebec's North Shore. United by a shared passion for music, Jean-Paul and Bruno have been playing together for 20 years. Their long musical journey has led them to perform in numerous Indigenous communities and festivals across Quebec, including Innu Nikamu. Since their early days, they have nurtured a great dream: that of taking to the stage and sharing their music with a wider audience. Today, that dream continues to come true, allowing them to celebrate their passion and reach new audiences with their vibrant, authentic performances. In November 2023, they produced Pikueikanu assit, a country song reflecting Innu cultural influences, with poetic lyrics and a driving rhythm. Pikueikanu assit harmoniously blends tradition and modernity, offering a captivating and memorable sonic experience.
