Régis Niquay has been writing folk-rock songs since his first album Atkokotc, but it was while playing country music with his father, uncles and friends from the age of eight that he learned music. He has since performed in numerous shows in Quebec and Switzerland. The singer-songwriter is currently working on his next album, which he hopes will be full of hope for youth. His lyrics will address striking problems in Aboriginal communities, such as consumer issues. To work, he enjoys walking in the forest where he meditates, listens, observes and reflects. Originally from Wemotaci, Régis Niquay now lives in the community of Manawan.
